HISTORY

Cintech Industrial Coatings, Inc. was formed in 1902 in Cincinnati, Ohio as the Foy Paint Company and the Foy family continues to lead the company today. The purchase of the Cincinnati Varnish Co. in 1928 was our springboard into the industrial and wood coating market. This same year, we purchased a new paint plant. After purchasing the R. F. Johnston Paint Co. in 1931, we operated under that name, as well as Foy Paint, until 1961. At that time, the house- paint division combined names and labels to become Foy-Johnston Paint.

In 1966 we purchased Jasper Chemical Coatings in Jasper, Indiana. Jasper, Indiana is the second largest furniture-manufacturing region in the country. At that time, we moved all of our furniture finishes manufacturing to Jasper.

Until 1987, we sold under three names:
Foy- Johnston- House Paint Division
Cincinnati Varnish Co. – Industrial Division
Jasper Chemical Coatings- Lacquer Division

After selling our house paint division in 1987, we changed the name of Cincinnati Varnish to Cintech Industrial Coatings and moved into a new plant in Cincinnati. Jasper Chemical Coatings continues in Jasper, Indiana.
